Richard Castro

Richard Castro

Richard has over 20 years of product development design, leadership and entrepreneurial experience in medical device and safety critical markets. Specializing in embedded, RF and high speed digital electronics, Richard has led small to mid-size engineering teams which successfully brought FDA approved products to market. As an executive, Richard built and directed a team of 25+ product development engineers and service technicians to develop and deploy the next generation of robotic cerebral ultrasound systems. Richard is the co-founder of a company whose device leverages novel use of binocular OCT (optical coherence tomography) to improve the quality and efficiency of eye examinations. Richard began his career with the design and world-wide deployment of an implantable retinal prosthesis to restore sight to the blind.

Richard earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Caltech and his M.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego. He has ten published patents along with articles published in IEEE.
